It’s been a funny old few days…
I’ve never been out with my mates so much, as recently…as if my slaves wanted me out the way…No-one seemed to comment on the fact that a number of my beds at home had disappeared last Thursday…A mad cap weekend followed, with a few tears and not an inconsiderable amount of booze – no relation, you understand… Then, yesterday was the weirdest day…MJ insisted on taking my picture as I got into my carriage to go hang out with my mates…embarrassing, and even more so, when she welled up saying goodbye to Daniel, my chauffeur.
Having been driven home, I find the house empty and them two smiling and crying by equal measure. Then, I had to break the news to the new puppy down the street, Lola, that I was leaving the hood and she would have to look elsewhere as I was headed to Europe on an Odyssey- whatever that means!
Anyway, long story, short, I had a final belly rub and smooth last night in Cooden Beach UK, and we are now in Epernay, northern France – there was much excitement and exclamations as we drove in – Mercier, Lanson, Nicholas Feuillate (apparently a dear friend to some)… no idea who these geezers are, but we may be seeing a bit of them! The best bit has been the entrecôte for dinner after being stuck in the back of Trooper (car, not canine!) all day – comfortable, though that is.
We have had rain all day and thunder tonight so MN is hoping they remembered to pack an umbrella!
I am looking forward to the ball playing opportunities that tomorrow will hopefully bring, along with a sniff of the cork from a bottle or three, which most of you will know I am very fond of! And with that, dear Reader, I shall bid you a Bon Nuit. Until next time…xxx
Hey Pete,
Glad you’ve all made stage 1 of European Space Odyssey without hiccup – all meticulously planned. I am sure MN and MJ are sampling local produce and calming their nerves. Entrecôte – you lucky boy, all I’ve had is sardines. Hope the rain stops tomorrow so that you can have good ball play without MN or MJ getting their bonnet wet. Miss Betty xxx
Bon soir mon ami – so glad to hear that you have arrived safely at your first stop!
Glad to hear MJ and MN are starting as they mean to go on! Keep an eye on those corks! Your Trooper seat looks comfy (he says from the comfort of a bean bag!) – bon nuit, love Albert xx
So first day of adventure missing u already can’t wait til Friday hooorah

Fab Pete enjoy your ball games love toMJ and MN. Love from your farnworth family xx
Can’t wait to see you in a few days time. Xxx
Bonjour Pete!
I have taken over from my mum in leaving comments on your blog. I mean, she’s great and all that, but does she really know what make’s a dog tick?
Anyway, this odyssey of yours sounds absolutely woof-tastic! If at any point you feel that you need some canine company, then I’m your dog and I’ll hot foot/paw it out there before you can say Dentastix!
Enjoy your ball-playing in the rain or sun and remind MJ and MN that it’s important to keep hydrated at all times!!
Lots of tail wagging from Rolo
